  • That was a really good article. Very sad too. As mothers we do need to stick together. There are plenty of battles up ahead and it's good to have a support system.

I love this article (minus the sadness) and agree wholeheartedly that we need to start supporting each othr more and judge less. I, too, appreciate the tribe of moms I have found here!

  • Ah- there was a warning, but I was not quite prepared for that. How horrible and tragic.

I have been working, in my old age (ha ha), on being less judgmental. I work in nonprofit healthcare now, and part of our mission statement is to provide nonjudgmental service. That has been a struggle for me in the past few years I've been doing this, but I think I'm in a place where I really am not judging our patients. So why do I find myself judging other people, other women, other moms?

Thanks for this link. I'm actually starting to like the Time cover, because of wonderful responses like this. It isn't up to Time to say whether or not you're a good mom. You know in your heart if you are doing the best you can for your child, and my guess is you are.

  • I really like the anti-mommy wars sentiment that has been stirred up lately. I remember thinking the same sentiment about that Marie Claire article that someone shared a while ago. Maybe if everyone wasn't so "this is the way to be a perfect mommy" all the time, maybe women wouldn't feel so pressured to make choices that don't make them happy (I know the woman in the article was trying to make that point about societal pressure to be a SAHM, but at the same point she was certainly being very judgmental).
