June 2011 Moms

You ARE mom enough.

I know we're all sick of hearing about it, but one more response to the Time cover. I know not everyone here is a Christian, and I'm not trying to offend. But this had me crying big fat tears all over my baby while she nursed this morning. Love!!

Re: You ARE mom enough.

  • I'm not a religious person, but this made me tear up as well.  I totally agree with this author, the caption is what offended me the most out of all of the Time madness.  I'm all for mothers doing attachment parenting/breastfeeding until 3/whatever they want, but don't ever question if I'm (or anyone for that matter) "mom enough" for my kids.  Like she said, it's something we all feel insecure about on a daily basis.  We don't need help from the media feeling inadequate.

    Thanks for sharing!

  • Thanks for sharing.  I have read so many good responses to the original article...all from slightly different viewpoints, but each offering a new way of looking at things.  Thanks.

  • Love it.  Especially the part where she says "Breastfeeding until age 3 does not make you a better mom."  Exactly how I feel about the Time article.
  • That was beautiful, thank you so much for sharing that she responded perfectly IMO

  • That was an amazing article, thanks for sharing! The caption is definitely what offended me the most about that. I personally believe that as a mom, only you know what is good for your child, and only you know how long to breastfeed, or to do anything else that concerns YOUR child. To make moms feel even more unsure about our decisions, is despicable to me. TIME should be ashamed.

Ditto to all of this. We need an anti-mommy wars protest. Give peace a chance!
