Soooo, I posted the other day that I was in labor. I wasn't sure that morning that my water had broken and DH insisted that we go to the hospital as a precaution. Turns out it had broken and we ended up staying. That was 7:30 am.
The doctor wanted to let me progress naturally so all day I waited for progress. It never came. Around 6 pm I was started on pitocin and after six or so hours not much was happening so it was upped. I was worried about how hard the contractions would hit so I opted for an epidural around 2 am. It made me a little sick- sweats and nauseousness but that passed in 30 minutes.
It seemed like we waited forever. Finally around 11 am I was ready to push. I was so calm it was strange. It was just me, DH and a nurse in the room while I pushed. After an hour the Dr. was called and Eli came within moments of her arrival. After all that waiting he joined us much quicker than I had ever hoped for.
He weighed 7lbs 8oz and was 20 inches long. I can't believe the wonderful experience I had. We are so in love with him.
