If you have a business degree

What part of business did you major in? What is your current job. I'm asking these questions because I'm getting ready to go back to school!! I'm a little nervous because I live in such a small town in worried that maybe I'm choosing something that is going to be hard to find a job doing. Hope you ladies can help :)

Re: If you have a business degree

  • My business degree is in Finance. Currently, I am a Controller of an educational software company - I run the accounting department. GL! :)

  • I have a Business education degree and teach high school businesses/computer classes.  I do not know where you live and if teachers in this area are needed, but I also do not know if I could encourage anyone to go into education with all the changes that are being mandated.
  • Both DH & I have a Business degree with a concentration in Marketing. I currently work in banking & he works in insurance. It's a very broad field and unless you have a particular passion & want to follow that then do it, but we left our options open &  we are happy with where we are.

  • My concentration was Marketing. I did a communications minor. I currently work at a small nonprofit doing AP, AR and building management type stuff. I do a lot more accounting work than I ever thought I would! I'm very glad I majored in Business! I feel like you do have a lot of options after graduation, which also makes it a little scary. I remember being envious of my friends that majored in Education because they knew exactly what they were doing after graduation, whereas I had no clue! But, now some of my teacher friends are all envious of my great job!

  • I actually chose Business Education because I wanted to be a counselor, but didn't think I would like teaching so I was a little nervous.  This way I had a Business background so I could go into the Business world if I didn't like teaching.
