Last week I was told by my OB that I am at 3cm and 100% and because this is my second baby that it really could be any time. I've had Braxton Hicks, period like cramps, pelvic pressure, and every other pre-labor symptom... However, a new one, that has lasted now for four days is a killer headache. I've tried sleeping, tylenol, bendryll, pregnancy safe tea, walking, eating special foods, and now I'm at a loss. Has anyone ever experienced this at the end of their pregnancy and know how to get rid of it? Is this severe headache a sign that labor is eminent?
Thanks!
Re: 38 weeks and terrible headaches... nothing is working....
Bad headaches in the third tri can be a sign of preeclampsia. If I were you, I'd call my OB tomorrow to get it checked out.
Do you have blurry vision or more than normal swelling in your feet? Those are two other common signs, although there are a lot more possible symptoms, too.
My doctor instructed me (numerous times) to call Labor & Delivery asap if I had a headache that wasn't relieved with Tylenol.
I'd call if I were you!!

Like the PP said, I'd talk to your OB first to rule out BP. But, yes, headaches and migraines can be common at the end of pregnancy. Especially if you suffer from PMS or period headaches when not pregnant. It could also be a sinus headache.
Tylenol Severe Cold works wonders. I'm a migraine sufferer, and I have the most luck during pregnancy with a cocktail of: Tylenol, psuedoephedrine, and a caffeinated soda. IDK how safe pseudoephedrine is in the third Tri, tho.
