Mother's Day etiquette?

Being my first Mother's Day maybe I just didn't know this little bit of etiquete.  Does every mother always say "Happy Mother's Day" to all the other mothers they know?

At work today, every single other mother I work with has said Happy Mother's Day to me.  Anyone else been getting this all day?  Maybe it's just because it's my first Mother's Day, or maybe it's just one of those things I'm learning as I go!

I think its because its your first Mother's Day.  I haven't gotten any of it since the first year D1 was born.

  • I've only gotten it from the guy at Barnes and Noble. I'll tell you why. Last week I bought a BLW book, but when we decided not to do it, I returned it. Then I bought "the no-cry sleep solution" but I remembered that DH got me a kindle for mothers day, so I figured I'd just buy it on there since it's like $10 cheaper (cuz B&N charges "list price" for books. Angry ). So I went to return it today and it was the same guy at the checkout and he recognized me. Ughh, I was embarrassed that he thought that I was someone who bought books, read them and returned them so I mumbled something about not usually returning books this often. Then I like burst out "You know why I'm returning this?! Because my husband is buying me a nook for mothers day! So I'm just going to buy it on there!" even though it's a kindle. But I didn't wanna get the sales pitch on why nooks are better. He even asked if I wanted info on nook classes and I was like "yes please!" haha. And as I was leaving he wished me happy mothers day Stick out tongue

  • I usually just tell people "Have a good Mother's Day!", but I don't think it's weird to say Happy Mother's Day.  To me, it's kind of like saying Happy Thanksgiving.
