Two Under 2

6 weeks left, 3 weeks of DH gone and my body is aching.

I am due with #3 on June 21...same EDD as DD and I had her on the 11th. Dh left for the rig yesterday and works until June 1....so 37w1d. I am SO sore and tired. Baby is on my utero sacral nerve and it feels like someone is stabbing me when I walk. I am also having BH contrax and ligament pain today. SO not fun. I can barely bend, lift, walk etc.

I have my sister an hour away with her 3 kids, so she cant help much. I do have people offering help but the help I need is more like, fold my laundry and put it away, cook my kids dinner so I dont have to stand long, or pick up everything that drops on the floor (DS is good about this one, but he has his moments where he could care less).

I am 34 wks and I want to lay in bed until this baby comes out. I wish I had a live in nanny or my mom living nearby.

Any suggestions on how to make my life easier for the next 3 wks? Thanks!

  • Bless your heart.

Get some good movies that DS has never seen?  I know TV is evil and all, but sometimes it's all that gets us through the day.

Your DD seems fairly young, but she might watch some TV and play with toys while you stay on the couch?

Before I sit on the couch, I try to have sippy cups full, a snack out, and diapers clean so I can sit for a few minutes.

By the end of most days my house looks like a pigsty.  But I've learned that sometimes you just have to step over the mess and go to bed.

As far as laundry, I try to fold mine in the bed sometimes and make piles on the bed.  Then put everything up at once.  As for dinner, CROCK POT.  I cook casseroles and crock pot dishes like they're going out of style because I can pitch it all in there together and cook it and walk away.  I got crock pot liners to make clean up easy and some kind of Reynolds casserole dish liner to make cleanup easy for those, too.  Just find little ways to get more sitting/laying time.

I also let my girls run around outside for a while as evening starts coming so that they can get good and tired.  They just tend to find things to do out there so I sit in a chair outside while they play.

DH is a farmer so I'm with the girls sun up to sun down by myself and they're usually in bed when he gets home so I know somewhat how you feel.

Good luck, mama.  You're getting close to the end.  :)

  • I am due June 20th and my DH will be away training until June 14th. I learned to try to ignore the mess during the day and clean it up once or twice rather than the usual 5-6 times. Some days standing in the kitchen is not an option, so DD just gets a couple food pouches for lunch and that's ok with me.

Hopefully we can both get through until our Hs are home!
