No transfer tomorrow.
2/4 arrested.
The other two are still growing and are at the morula stage and they want them to be a blast. They want to watch them overnight and evaluate them for freezing tomorrow am. Hopefully they will have developed into blasts and can be frozen.
My clinic only does 6 day transfers. I asked why I can't transfer the two I have now before subjecting them to freezing and thawing process. She said there have been multiple studies in last two years about age of embryo and where lining is and pg rates are drastically lower if they don't match.
I don't know what to think. How can I be devastated when we have two? Another night of worry they will make it to blast. I waited 5 days to hear this news ... I'm exhausted.
Feeling down. Wondering if my long hope of a family of three is gone. Not saying I necessarily wanted twins (not sure we were even going to transfer two).
Trying to stay positive for the two embryos we have ... grow babies grow.
Re: Update to: Help keep me positive post =/
I didn't either and not sure I still do. There's a part of me wondering if I should fight/argue more. Here's what she told me: She said since my last IVF they have done a multitude of studies on multiple different things. Some of these studies looked at the age of lining and development of embryo. She said they've found that pg rates were significantly lower if the two didn't line up. She said that my lining is currently ready for blasts but my embryos are not yet there. She said embryos develop at different speeds and they feel allowing them to develop into blasts and me getting new lining would have better chance of pg. She said that their frozen rates are better than they used to be and almost as high as their IVF success rates. The nurses warned me this could happen at retrieval. I just don't know what to think.
I feel guilty crying and being upset. it could be zero. I know I still have hope. This is just hard.
IVF #1 = BFP!! So blessed to have our baby boy! IVF #2 = Convert to frozen - 1 frostie! IVF #3 = Convert to frozen - 1 frostie! FET #1 = 8/14, Two transferred, One stuck! Praying for another healthy miracle! Due: 5/2/13
I'm sorry, I don't understand the freezing and thawing either.
((HUGS))
and don't feel guilty crying, you deserve a good cry.

Thank you guys! After what they told me, do you think i should insist on transfer? Today is day 5, tom is day 6. Doubt they'd even do this but who knows ... They said transfer after 8 am means lining is too old.

well I did 2 IVF's fresh cycles, 1 ended in a BFN and the other chemical. My FET was with day 6 frozen embryos and it was such an easy cycle. I would be inclined to listen to them, but had I had a BFN this time I would tell you to ask for the transfer.

I have never heard of this as far as lining matching the stage of the embryo. It makes sense actually. I hope your two embies are rockstars and freeze/thaw beautifully!
((hugs))
Thanks! I'm so glad you had success with your FET and you're giving me more hope
I asked her some more questions and feel like it makes a little more sense to me at this point.  If they were to develop into blasts by tomorrow am, timing would be good but they wouldn't have been prepped for transfer.  By the time they'd prep it's too far out.  I could question everything a million more times but I'll stop and focus on the two I have!

Are you on meds for your lining, or is this a natural cycle?
Did you start taking progesterone yet? If you have taken Progesterone, then it does depend on the day that the embryo's are and the day you started the progesterone.
