TTC after 35

I'm turning into a crazy person

Okay, I would like to start by saying that I know that I am being completely and totally irrational.  But with that said, I would love for someone to reinforce that I am being crazy....

My cycle is very regular -- almost always ovulating between 14 and 17 days.  I got a positive OPK on Saturday, but my temperature has not gone up.  Now I am on day 21 and in a panic thinking that I am entering peri-menopause and will never ovulate again.

Like I said, I am turning into a crazy person.

Re: I'm turning into a crazy person

  • Flukey things happen with cycles. Don't panic.

I can't call you crazy because I've been known to throw myself into such panic modes over stranger things.Wink

  • Not crazy.  There are just too many things to worry about all of it.  Can they do a progesterone draw to see if you ovulated and missed the temp?

  • Are you between treatment cycles by chance?

Before IF treatments, my cycles were always like clockwork.  Today I got AF after a 23 day cycle.  WTF?

Thanks ladies!  It is good to know that I am not alone.  Some vigorous housecleaning and baking for my boss's party tomorrow also helped calm me down.

I am away from my doctor for my final few weeks in Philadelphia, so I'll just tough it out without a blood draw.

  • We were both probably googling perimenopause at the same time yesterday!

I spoke to my older sister and she was saying her periods are starting to get lighter and much shorter, she's 45 and she was saying she thinks the beginnings of menopause are showing up..so I started freaking thinking I have 5 more years to make this happen.. and the googling ensued..

  • LOL - I always think about this.  The worst part is that my mother had a hysterectomy in her 30s, so I have no information on when I might go into menopause (if such things are hereditary?)!  I really hope I can squeeze at least one baby in before I do!
