A little backstory: Our hospital never did footprints and I didn't have the chance to do them myself at home in those first few weeks. I've always been kind of sad I didn't have that momento.
Yesterday I picked DS up from daycare and the teacher handed me a wrapped gift (in pink unicorn paper no less). I opened it and it was a handmade card with DS's footprints and hand prints!! I started crying, they must think I'm off my rocker.
It's so cute, they painted his hands and feet in different colors, included a poem and had him "sign" his name in crayon. I'm keeping this card forever!
Re: Best Mother's Day Gift Ever
I got a card yesterday too with this poem attached. I balled.
Sometimes you get discouraged
Because I am so small
And always leave my fingerprints
On furniture and walls
But every day I'm growing --
I'll be grown some day
And all those tiny handprints
Will surely fade away
So here's a little handprint
Just so you can recall
Exactly how my fingers looked
When I was very small
Oh man, I just teared up too!!!
Awe I love that
Oh crap me too.
AWWWW that made me tear up too. Damn kids making us all sappy, LOL!
I hope my day care does something for me, I doubt it tho cause it's my SIL, maybe she likes to do crafts with the girls.
