What was that?

So last night I woke up feeling damp, but not wet so I assumed it was sweat and went back to bed.  I woke up this morning and showered and got ready for the day.  Just before I left the house, I felt a trickle.  It was like discharge but more watery.  I put a pantyliner on and again, have been a little damp but not wet.  I've been contracting all morning with contractions getting pretty intense and coming about every 6 minutes or so.

I'm so confused.  Did my water break?  Is it leaking?  Am I having labor contractions or just really strong BH?

I went in last friday for a false alarm and it was quite embarassing.  I'd like to avoid going again just to be told 'this isn't it, go home'.

I wish the beginning part of labor was easier to figure out!

  • You could always try going for a walk or something and see if things continue or pick up the pace. Give it a little more time and see how you feel. Hospitals are used to women coming in and not quiite ready to be there, so try not to feel bad about that!

    What she said...

Also, don't be embarrassed about "false" alarms... It happens all the time! :)

  • I went into the the hospital and got sent home TWICE before going into labor with DD...and went in and got sent home TWICE while I was IN labor with DD. the staff were completely fine and nice. This kind of thing happens all the time, and after almost not making it back to the hospital in time, let me tell you they'd rather send you home, than have you in an emergency situation.

If have the slightest concern about your membranes having ruptured, at the very least call them. GL!!!
