Agency Comparison

American Adoptions vs Adoption Network Law Center... Thoughts?  Pros?  Cons?  Anyone had direct experience with either?

March - Sept 2012: Moved to RE.. 4 treatment cycles - responses of one or no follicles
09.03.12: Diagnosed Poor Ovarian Response.. DE IVF only option
Feb - Nov 2012: Pursued Adoption. That door slammed shut.

  • Our agency has had multiple couples work with ANLC.  She said most are matched very very quickly....but you pay for it.  She said her clients paid between $38-45K

  • I haven't looked into either agency myself, but I highly recommend researching any agency you are considering to make sure it abides by ethical standards. For domestic agencies, a great place to look them up is on the yahoo group called "AARD" (Adoption Agency Research ? Domestic). That group is dedicated to giving honest feedback on agencies. You can ask about the agencies you are interested in directly, and also search their archives and files.
  • When we first started exploring adoption we talked to ANLC what they said turned us off and it took us months to start looking for other agencies. I was so glad to find that there were other agencies that were more interested in making families than making money.

We ended up finding a new tiny local agency. We had a really short wait and our costs were about 15K less than they would have been with ANLC.

I've read some great reviews about ANLC and AA online.  Out of curiousity, what did ANLC say that turned you off?

Thanks, Carolina.  I don't really have any questions right now.  They seem to be pretty similar.  I think the biggest thing holding me back from them is that they will mark us inactive if we happen to become pregnant.  We don't want to stop treatments or trying just because we've started the adoption process.  We would continue with the adoption either way.
