It just hit me...

...I'm really a mom!  I am sitting here thinking about what to get my mom for mother's day - I have NO clue - and thinking about what we are going to do on Sunday.  We always try to make the day all about her and then I realized that this year it can be all about me too!  That thought is just strange to me though!

    I am soo excited for the pressure to be off for mother's day.  Now I'm a mom and if I just want to chill at home with my family I can.  My mom and I have a strange relationship and my birthday falls near mother's day each year (AW: it's today) and I've always hated that some years on my birthday I have to worry about my mom or MIL (a couple years ago it was on mother's day).  

    DH and I decided this year we are going to stay at home and he's going to cook.  I'm waiting for my mom to invite me over at the last minute (which I plan to to say no to) and this year I have a great reason.  I'm celebrating with my family!
