Hello all! DH and I are in the process of adopting internationally from Ethiopia!
Just got word from our agency that the background checks we've been waiting for are back in and all clear...which means we can schedule our Homestudy! I thought now might be a good time to introduce myself.

Application for domestic adoption submitted 4/18/12, matched 8/12/12, DD born 10/31/12
I'm welcoming as well. We've sent our paperwork back for additional background checks & my husband is going to the courthouse today to have them run another required check on us.
We're sending all of our paperwork back next week & will officially begin our homestudy.
Did you select a preference on age or sex for a match in Ethiopia?

Thanks everyone! I'm very happy to be here, and get to know you all better! We just found out that our social worker will be calling us in the next 48 hours to set up our meeting times for the homestudy!
Ibarker2006: We are doing the "infant" adoption program with our agency...which means our little one will be 0-12 months at the time of referral! We went back and forth about gender, and eventually decided to not state a preference.
