At least I haven't seen this since I've been here.
LO is about 14 months. We nurse 1-2x/day. Neither one of us are really in the market to stop. The problem is that LO has been refusing to nurse on the left pretty much at all. I think I am nearly dry on that side. The right, however, he avidly nurses from. So much so that when it is getting close to time to nurse, I am several cup sizes different.
I try redirecting him back to the left, but he will refuse to latch. I have never been effective at hand expressing, and I really don't want to single-side pump. Any thoughts on this ladies? What would you do?

Re: Not your average weaning question
Lazy Lefty was never as strong of a producer or as easy to latch for my DS. He stopped going there all together around 18 months. I stopped pumping at that point and it stopped producing. I was still pumping because DS had an eating disorder but that is another story. Ds continued to nurse on the right until shortly before his third birthday. While my right is still a little larger, they did pretty much even out after about a month of only feeding with the right. I would let it go and see how your body adjusts.
On a funny note, when DS was about 2.5 he randomly hopped on the left and started sucking really hard. It kind of hurt but he managed to make it relactate and then went right back to the right, lol!
I totally know someone who only nursed on one side with her son. Not a big deal!
DS2 - Oct 2010 (my VBAC baby!)
My mom nursed all four of her babies. I was her third. When I got teeth around 4-5 months, I bit her so hard that she could only nurse me on one side while she healed. The injured side dried up and never produced milk again. I nursed until 18 months when my brother was born, and then he nursed from only one side the entire time (thanks to me!)
I don't see any harm in letting one side dry up. If he doesn't want it, and you don't mind being a little lopsided until he's done nursing all together, then just do what feels right. He's already 19 months old, and it goes by fast, so just enjoy the rest of your nursing time together and give your left side a rest.
at least that's my 2 cents.
