So I went to my local police station today to get both of my car seats inspected. The police officer (who is a licensed carseat inspector) was amazing. SHe was so thorough and properly installed both of my car seats. Not that they were installed uincorrectly she just made them better. She used a pool noodle to get the angles perfect and made sure to explain what she was doing in detail. I guess the gauge on the side of many car seats for the angle is unreliable because they aren't always accurate. I think every parent should get their car seat inspected. I thought my son's was installed perfectly as I followed the instructions to a T, but the angle was still wrong.
It's a free public service that most police or fire stations offer. Just make sure the person helping you is a licensed carseat technician. Just one more way to get peace of mind that your child is restrained porperly.
