lazy lima bean

DS just will not roll over back to front. I know he is strong enough. He is almost sitting up! I think he knows I want him to do it so he can sleep on his yummy and he is just torturing his sleep deprived mommy ;) Any tips or commiseration?

Re: lazy lima bean

  • I don't have any advice, but mine is right there too. I secretly think he knows that once he's good at rolling both ways, I won't swaddle him at night anymore, and he won't have anything to do with that! Wink

  • My daughter is the opposite.  She'll roll back to belly but can't figure out how to get from belly to back.  She will try for a bit, and then she just lays her head on the floor and whimpers or screeches until I put her on her back.

  • I have a friend whose LO hadn't rolled at all by his 6m checkup.  The pedi told her, You seem concerned about it, well don't be, look at him, he could if he wanted to.  He obviously doesn't want to!  Sure enough 2 weeks later he rolled once and at 7 months thats still all he's rolled!  I think it's funny how some LO's are just content in one place, while others don't stop once they've started!!

  • So of course I posted this yesterday and he rolled today finally.  But, I put him on his tummy to sleep (which he loves and we have been letting him do when we can monitor him) and he rolls onto his back!  He never does that!  What a stinker!

  • Mine doesnt roll at all but she can sit unsupported for short periods of time. She has rolled once or twice (each way) but thats it. Babies are weird.
