Ignorant people!!

in 2nd Trimester

I cannot stand ignorant people. On top of that I cannot stand ignorant people in the place that I have to work at everyday. I just started showing and let my office manager know that I am having a baby. Her comment: Well, do you know who the baby's father is? WTF???

Is this because I am the only african american employee working there? I should've asked her but she pissed me off so much I kept my mouth shut and left on break so I wouldn't lose my job prematurely.

    i can't believe she actually said that.  i'm so sorry.  i probably would have lost it on her, props to you for taking the higher road.  do you have an hr department?  i would put the incident in writing and submit it so its on her record, thats just bull shit.

    Whether she is single or not, it is an inappropriate question that should not be asked ESPECIALLY in the work place.

    Unless the person is a really good friend or your Dr, I think that it's an inappropriate question for anyone to ask a pregnant woman.

    Well, you know, maybe she thinks you're so smokin hot that you have to fight off guys with a stick. Then maybe she was hitting on you because she thinks you're so hot, which would be another reason to go to HR--sexual harrassment.

    I was closest to the cordless phone on my desk, but stapler works too!!

    I agree. Props to you for keeping your cool.  I would have done and/or said something back to that one!  I can't believe anyone would have the nerve to say something like that in the first place.  I agree that she should be reported for it.

    I agree that it was completely inappropriate (agree with pp, maybe awful timing and delivery on a joke gone wrong?) but I also don't think it's racist at all. Questioning paternity and race have zero to do with one another.
