Feeling like Supermom RE Urine collection

So we did DD's blood work and "urine collection" today.  Bloodwork was ok but they had some trouble getting her vein.   

The urine collection was a little more difficult.  My instructions from the pedi were to put in on and put her diaper on.  Well not that simple.  We did that before we left and no urine made it in the bag.  Once we got home she took a nap and again urine everywhere but the bag.  So I ended up laying down a towel, and laying her in the boppy with just the bag on.  Success!  So we took it back to the lab, but it wasn't enough because they had to run two tests.  

So we went back home and continued for another 90 minutes (and 3 episodes of Yo Gabba Gabba) and a bottle of formula, water, and juice.  Finally we got enough.  

I found if she moved too much it messed up the bag and the urine would not make it in.

If anyone else ever has to do this I hope you have a little boy, much easier with them, lol.

    We had to do this when A was 2 months old and it was a major fail. And she didn't move a lot then! I definitely don't see how we'd do it now. Aside from moving while the bag is on I can't even imagine having her sit long enough to stick it in place! Anyway great job - I think you are a super mom.

    Major props to you! We had such a hard time getting enough pee in that dang bag! It is no small feat, so you sure do deserve a pat on the back!

    Aw thanks.  We did change the bag about 5 times.  Everytime she peed in it I took it off and poured in the specimen jar.  

    DH was off today and tomorrow.  I slept in today and he told me I could also sleep in tomorrow since I was such a wonderful mommy and held a pee bag on my daughter for an hour and half.
