It's not super sunny but gets some light. We have shades that are pretty light on the windows. While it's possible that room darkening shades might encourage her to take naps, I don't feel so strongly that it would so I'm ok leaving things as they are.
We leave it how it is. Our house has those wonderful $15 plastic blinds and we just deal with it. We move pretty much every year so buying different sized shades all the time would get very $$$. It's still a little light out when she goes down for bed, but it's light out during the day for naps, so what's the difference really?
The morning sun shines right in E's room and was waking her up super early every morning so I just hung the comforter from the extra bed in her room over it and now she sleeps in until she's ready to wake up. She goes to bed when it's still light out too so it helps her go to bed easier. I'm to lazy to take it down and put it up everyday so I just leave it up all day, it hasn't really effected her naps.

LO's room gets afternoon sun - we have heavy curtains over the window that we keep closed for him to sleep because there is also a street light right in front of our house that shines in if we do not close the curtains. And with summer approaching his room would get really hot during the day if we let the sun shine in.

We used to have blackout curtains but we just moved last week and his new room doesn't have them yet. I'm waiting to see if it's necessary. If not, he can just lay there tanning ;-p

Re: Does LO have a very sunny room?
Our house is really shaded in the front where her two windows are, and I put dark plum colored curtains up in her room to darken it. Works great.
In our room I use those eclipse shades under our curtains since I have to sleep during the day for work. Those work great too.
