Clicky poll: acupuncture!

Not sure if this is where I will get the most feedback, but I'm a frequent lurker/infrequent poster and figured it can't hurt!

*Obviously we aren't scientists so none of this is proven, but I'm just wondering this would be worth the money! :)  Thanks!

TTC since 8/2010. Irregular cycles after stopping BCP.

    I didn't vote b/c I have no personal experience, but I do know only 1 person who got an acupuncture treatment to induce, and it worked for her!

    I do not have personal experience using acupuncture to induce; however, I have used acupuncture while trying to conceive and am now doing moxabustion in an attempt to turn my breech baby.

    I am very much a proponent of natural child birth and integrating eastern and western medicine. If I were overdue I would absolutely try acupuncture as a natural way to get labor going.

    Thanks for the responses!  I will probably get an appointment in just because, well - it can't hurt to try!  Plus, like PP - previous sessions I've had are so relaxing that in itself would be worth it.

    I had it done on a Thursday night and went into labor on Saturday night, so I do think it helped.  That said, I also think my body was ready to go into labor and no amount of acupuncture is going to work unless your body and baby are ready.

    I voted 'yes.'  Although it was more like I had acupuncture on Friday and Saturday afternoon and went into labor at 2:30am on Tuesday.  So more like 2 1/2 days after.  Even if it didn't put me into full blown labor I know it helped my body to get ready.  On Friday night I started having terrible sciatic nerve pain and could feel the baby moving around a ton.  The next morning the baby had noticeably dropped.

    You might check to see if your insurance company will cover some of it.  I was surprised to find out that mine covered 90%!
