I was laid off from my job back in December. Today in the mail I received a very generous gift card from some of my former co-workers. It was unexpected and I appreciate it very much! I want to thank them but I am not sure what to do.
When I was still working, we threw a baby shower for another co-worker. The co-worker thanked us by treating us all to breakfast at work (catered by the cafeteria). Honestly, this is not something I can afford to do.
Is there anything else I could do that would be appropriate? Would a cake and coffee be enough? I could bring it to the office one day as a treat. Thoughts?
Re: Advice needed- how to thank former co-workers?
I would send thank you notes.
I guess if you really want to do something you could bring in bagels or coffee cake with coffee for breakfast or a cake in the afternoon, but I don't think that it's necessary.
A note to each individual would be nice. I am sure they would appreciate it.
The norm at my place of work is people bake something and put it in our lunch room along with one general thank you card.
Thats very sweet of your former coworkers!
