Dilated = lost mucus plug?

I was 1cm dilated at my last appointment. Does this mean my mucus plug is gone? I never noticed losing it, but it seems that if it's there to block the opening of the cervix, but the cervix is now open, it must not be there.  Anyone know if this is accurate or false?

    i was wondering the same thing, im 3cm and 75% effaced and have been for 2 weeks, but i havent noticed losing mine either.

    No...you can be dilated and still have your mucus plug intact.

    Good to know because I too am 1cm dilated and 80% effaced but never noticed losing my MP

    Nope, with DS, I dilated to 2 cm and didn't lose it until I was actually in labor.

    I was thinking the same thing! I am 1cm dialted and 80% effaced and never thought I lost my mucus plug either!

    I was 4 cm and 80% effaced before I lost mine.

    I also thought I must have lost it before then but nope.

    My first labor I didn't lose it until active labor and I believe I was 5 cm before I lost it. I also never had bloody show, well that I am aware of, I stopped knowing what when on after I got my epi.

    At my appointment last Friday I was 2 cm and 80-90% effaced but I didn't lose my mucus plug until Sunday. It doesn't make sense to me how things could happen in that order, but that was my experience.
