Mother's Day?

What, if anything, is DH getting you for Mother's Day? He asked me what I wanted, and I'm having trouble coming up with something. Pathetic, right? He already makes waffles/pancakes for us every Sunday and we're going to have a picnic with some friends. I know he wants to do something tangible and in the <$50 price range. Any suggestions?

In the past under $50 I have gotten a gift card for a pedicure, hanging baskets of flowers, Reef Flip Flops and a framed pic of me and my DD that I never saw after he took it with our camera.

This year I asked for another pedicure or a massage gc.

DH got me some beautiful flowers yesterday. I really want a camera but its just not in our budget right now. I hope we can go to lunch on Sunday or something cause I think that would be nice.

My H didn't even know Mother's Day was this weekend...even though we bought cards for his mom and grandmother....So I expect nothing.

I would like to go get my hair cut. That would make me happy.

Right after DD was born, I showed interest in a necklace that related to her and said I'd like that for my 1st Mother's Day. I HIGHLY doubt he remembers though. MH doesn't notice subtle hints or even blatant ones unless they are very recent in his memory. He's working Mother's Day so I'm guessing we'll do something together on Saturday. But.....he did just mention that he'd be staining our deck on Saturday so maybe he forgot, lol. Woudln't put it past him.

My DH is very similar on hints. Apparently a few weeks ago I mentioned that I wanted to get the "What to Expect the Toddler Years" book because I've really liked "What to Expect the First Year." I bought it for myself last week and it arrived and I was reading it. DH looked dejected and I asked what was up--apparently he had planned to get me that book for Mother's Day! He actually listened to something I said! And then I had to go and wreck it. Oh well.

Pedicure giftcard is a good idea. Maybe I'll suggest that.

I gave a few suggestions when DH asked what I wanted. I want a new FSU t-shirt and/or cap for football season, the movie The Vow on DVD....and I think that was everything that I came up with.

We're going to spend the morning at the beach together with DD. It'll be her first time going to the beach.

he's sent me out of the house for a mani/pedi the past 2 years, which has been fabulous

not sure what our plans are for this year, we have a lot going on trying to get our house prepped for Liam's bday party (memorial day weekend) so I'd be happy with planting flowers and maybe breakfast or lunch out.

I just got flowers delivered to my office! This was so surprising because my DH is not a send flowers kind of guy. I was so touched. I think he may have gotten me a massage GC, too. I happen to see a text on his phone about it. I'm sorry that I saw it because I would have really liked to be surprised. I really appreciate DH's effort. He ususally doesn't put much work into birthdays or holidays. I normally just pick out something for my 'gift', he gives me a card and we go out to eat.

I don't know that he will get me anything...I just had a birthday a few weeks ago and he did pretty good with that. Of course, in general he's pretty good and never really has to ask me what I want for a gift whereas I suck at it and pretty much need written instructiosn on gift giving.

He was going to get me a remote starter for my car but they are $$$ and take me to this garden I love but my dad just called and forgot to tell me he is going to be 2 hours away this weekend (he lives 10 hours away) and wanted to get us a hotel room where he is staying (AC) so we are making it a mini vacay and going to the beach.

I told my SO anything at all will be fine as long as he makes an effort and its a surprise. He always makes me choose presents myself and then buys them for me, so I want something that I know he picked out with me in mind. And he has a present on the shelf for me to open on mother's day, so he succeeded!

Probably nothing...we just bought a new car for me this past weekend...so I'm anticipating that being my only present. Works for me though!

I guessing since I haven't received a birthday or Christmas present in two years, Mother's Day will consist of a load of nothing.

I'd love a mommy necklace or maybe a new diaper bag. Perhaps I'll treat myself to something next time I get paid.

i showed DH a mommy necklace i'd love, but i think he might wait for after DD arrives in sept. i'm sure i'll get something, i'm just not planning on it be fantastic.

Not sure, nothing big as our anniversary is the day before and he's going all out for that. He did escape with Bell the other day to go shopping (which was equally as nice because i got two hours home alone to read!)

I just got flowers in the mail "from DD" and DH took a half day on Monday for us to all go to the zoo together, but I feel that's more for DD's bday on Tuesday. Other than that, all I asked for was one morning off baby duty on Saturday so I can lay in bed/sleep as late as I want. We'll see how good he is as keeping her noise away from though me because I still stir at every little peep!

DH mentioned a couple times sending me away to a hotel for night, but I don't think it's gonna happen. We're trying to save money right now so we're being extra tight with cash. While I'm secretly really hoping for the mommy getaway, I'm not having high expectations. Plus, he said some things today that confirm my suspicions that my mommy getaway is not happening.

I'm not sure what he's planning. I wouldn't be surprised if he forgot either, lol. Last weekend he had a panic moment because he thought he missed mother's day...

DH told me today I am hard to buy for! What, why? I told him exactly what I wanted - a tabel and chair set for outside. I know it's kind of a lot of money but I am going to buy it anyway before DS birthday party so why not just give it to me as a gift? Plus he has been wanting a new grill for a few years now and I am thinking of getting that for him for father's day so he can spend a little more on me this year! Plus it's my 1st monther's day! Then he said maybe that will be our birthday gift for both of us this year since both of us would use it (our bdays are 5 days apart). But our bdays are after DS's so we would still need to buy it before then. Oh well, I would really be happy with a mani/pedi. or a hair coloring.
