Can someone please explain what this is, when you're suppose to do it and what are you supposed to do it with? lol. I'm not taking classes and trying to find books on the best natural labor, but i'm having a hard time.
I really like "Birthing from Within" it gives some great techniques for helping you birth naturally. I'm not sure what specifically you are looking for as far as massaging though. Do you mean your perineum prior to childbirth, or massage during labor? You can have your DH massage your perineum prior to childbirth to try and improve the elasticity and decrease your chances of tearing or episiotomy. I'm having my DH do that to me occasionally just using some olive oil. He just uses a finger to sort of work it a little bit in a "U" motion to help encourage it to stretch. You can actually do this during labor to from what I've read. You might even ask for a warm compress for "down there" when you are laboring to help everything stretch more easily. Don't know if that's what you were looking for exactly...sorry if it's TMI!!
