You still get told how to do it right? (vent)

My mom can never drop the advice and comments.

"make sure she's not sitting for too long, make sure she's dressed warm enough, make sure you are talking to her..."
I sent her a pic of DD sleeping on her tummy yesterday and immediately she said, "why on earth did you not cover her with a blanket"

We spoke later and again she needed to remind me that babies need to be covered with the blanket at all times when they are sleeping, no matter how hot it is. (i had told her not to worry about it as it was 77 degrees in the room)
She is driving me nuts, she always has to point out how i'm not doing something right....

you still get that?

OK vent over, I feel better now :)

Thanks for "listening" :)

  • My family will not stop about the socks. DD keeps socks on for like two minutes each time I put them on her, so I just don't do it, but when my mom and grandma are around it is sock time, all the time. Thankfully my family lives 800 miles away. DD wears her Uggs when she sees her grandma and great grandma so that her feet are warm. It has become something that we give each other a hard time about in a playful way, but it definitely could have turned into a big deal.

Yes I still get "advice" all the time. I know they raised children on e upon a time ago but do they have to comment on everything that I do. For gods sake I'm an intelligent and logical person, I'm sure I am able to care for my own child.

  • Mil got mad that I used fenugreek because she read it can be harmful for baby. I guess I won't mention the possible side effects of her Zantac. Thankfully my mom is great and mostly tries to calm my worries.

Also I thought I would mention that overdressing babies is my pedi's pet peeve. She said to dress her the same as I am dressed. (assuming you dress appropriately yourself)

  • I dont live anywhere near family so I dont get a lot of advice on what to do - unless I call them and ask for advice.... So I really dont know how I would handle the situation. Sorry ladies.
