brushing teeth

So DS just recently got his first two teeth.  Should I start brushing them with the flouride free toothpaste?  Or just brush with a wet toothbrush?

Also, can you recommend your LO's toothbrush?

TIA!

My older daughter's dentist sent us home with this one for DS to use once he got his first teeth:   https://www.amazon.com/Oral-B-Stages-Toothbrush-Tigger-Extra/dp/B001FWXT8W/ref=pd_sim_hpc_5

We just wet it down and give them a good once over and then let him chew on it for a bit.  He will see the dentist for the first time in August so at that point we will discuss whether to start using toothpaste or not.

Our pedi said water is fine, but I had already bought this and it came with a brush that fits over your index finger.

  • at this point it doesn't matter.  Just as long as you try to get into a routine with your baby.  We usually use toothpaste, but not always, sometimes I just brush with water.  I have both regular style toothbrushes and some wierd shaped silicone toothbrush that the babies can hold and munch on.   Most of the time they chew on this for 20 minutes and cry when I try to take it away.

  • i've been using the gerber toothpaste and brush that goes on your finger but now that he he has both bottom and top he bit me so hard i seriously thought I was going lose my nail! so i'm going to get a little toothbrush now and still use the gerber paste

  • I started brushing then too.

I use the toothpaste every other day. No real reason..I just don't think she needs it all the time.

I usually give it to LO and let her suck on it/move it around while we're getting ready for bed. She's relatively decent at it and keeps her occupied for a bit while I change her. Then I give her teeth a good once over and done.

I just bought whatever baby/kid toothbrush was cheapest at Target. A toothbrush is pretty much a toothbrush IMO.

This is what we use too.

We got the Aquafresh toothbrush and toothpaste. It's for 3-24 months, and DD loves it!
