Secondary IF

WWYD re DOR and IVF or IUI.

I'm in my 2ww with my first clomid cycle.  The RE had me take 100mg of clomid from CD 5-9.  I produced three follicles, one in the 31 range, one in the 28 range and on in the 15 before I triggered.

I have no idea if that is even a good response or not since this is all new to me.  The RE told me that he would like for me to do clomid for another two more rounds before moving to something different.  I have never heard of anyone with DOR having success on clomid. I go for a blood draw tomorrow and I'm not feeling too optimistic.

My insurance covers  four IVF's and I don't need to do a certain amount of ius's before I move on to that.  I am kind of at a loss as to what to do and since I feel like time is of the essence with DOR I don't want to waste time if that is what clomid is going to do.

WWYD?  Advice? Anything?

And since I can't get my stupid siggy to work my FSH is 12.5, AMH is 1.2 and my AFC is 14.

Me: 30, DOR with a FSH of 12.5
DH: 31, no issues
4-6/2012 100mg of Clomid + trigger + IUI/TI = BFN
7/2012 150mg of Gonal-f + trigger + IUI = BFN
8/2012 Surprise unmedicated BFP!! Due May 8, 2013

Re: WWYD re DOR and IVF or IUI.

  • Your numbers look great, I don't see why Clomid wouldn't work for you. You responded really well and your AFC and AMH are still pretty good. As long as you're not dealing with any MFI I would stick to your RE's rec. Also, RE's are also very quick to suggest IVF, so if he is recommending just Clomid, I would go with that. Good luck!

Your numbers are not bad at all, but if you have no restrictions I would not waste time, I would go to IVF.
