I clicked SS. I have no idea why I would need to lie about her age to begin with. Lying about plane tickets sounds dangerous to me. If she is old enough and needs her own seat then so be it.
I'm interested to know why one would lie about their child's age.
My parents used to say we were younger (within a year or so) than we were so they could still pay the "kids" price for things like concerts and tradeshows. Those things rake in the money, so I really wouldn't feel guilty about it. Maybe I'm a terrible person. ::shrugs::

I work at a resort with a waterpark and they charge $21 for anyone over the age of 12 months. So...i encourage people to lie...because 2 year olds dont last that long in the water park.
We will be lying about DD's age this weekend at the amusement park. Over age 3 you have to buy a full priced adult ticket. She is the size of a 2 year old and can't ride most of the rides so I think its ridiculous to pay the adult price. We usually don't, but occasionally I'm okay with it even though it does set a bad example for her. We'll just make sure she doesn't hear! :-)
Our local children's museum just raised the prices. It used to be free until a child turned 2. But they just changed it to where u have to pay at age 1. My little one can't roll, crawl and I think she will be walking by her first birthday. On top of that she is only in 3-6 month clothing so if she can't do anything while we are there, then I don't think we should have to pay for her. So for this I would lie about her age.
Dunno. If she's 3 years and 1 day, and the cut off is age 3 (like for a restaurant or something), sure. I don't think she can eat $10 more worth of food by being two days older.
Esp since she was a preemie. Sge's supposed to be two months younger, and for all purposes she is two months younger. She doesn't look nor act like a one year old. She's the size of a six month old (not even 16lbs yet).
On a side note, I've been lying about her age ever since she's been born to strangers. It's just easier so that I don't have to explain why she doesn't look/act like a X month old.
I don't plan to make a huge practice of it, but occasionally isn't hurting anyone. I was always small for my age and not a big eater, so my mom and dad would always order off the kids meal for me, even once I was over 10 or whatever the cut off was.

Yea minor things like that im ok with, but planes while I dont see how it's really any safer having your own seat, I wouldnt want to hold either kid for an extended period of time. Both kids will be getting their own seat regardless of price. No way would I want to have lap kids lol
I probably should have been more clear abut why you'd lie about LOs age

You hit a horrible patch of turbulence and everything is being jostled about. Babies are squirmy.
My DH witness a 6 month old fly out of his mother's arms and land on the arm rest three rows in front during a flight to Australia.
They had to make an unscheduled landing to take the baby to a hospital.

I didnt even think of that. I was thinking more about plane crashes, but I can see why now. If that's the case you'd think that all passengers must have a seat then

I live in Orlando so it's theme park city here. Usually the major parks let kids under 3 in free so that means I save a couple hundred a year not having to buy season passes for DS for when we visit. Now I wouldn't do it when he's 6 but i'd probably push it to 5ish depending on his size lol.

Im with you-I don't know why I'd need to lie.
Nope I have no interest in lying.
As for plane tickets even if they're under 2 we will always pay for a seat.
In the airline industry they refer lap infants as projectiles. I can't get that out of my head.
