Fetal breathing and hiccups

I've noticed the last week or so what feels like the baby is taking little breaths. Almost like a panting feeling. I read that usually after that happens the baby gets the hiccups. That has been true for me so far, anyone else? I didn't really have this breathing feeling with my others so it's been interesting!

    Yes! My dr pointed out the baby practicing breathing while we were at my last appt and I just noticed the same thing today.

    I haven't noticed a connection between the breathing and hiccups, but that's probably b/c this LO gets hiccups all the time, and I've only noticed practice breathing a few times. But it's the same for me; this is my 3rd LO and the first time I've been able to see/notice practice breathing!

    At my u/s yesterday we actually got to see the baby taking breathes it was cool. DH actually got a little emotional.

    We too got the chance to see the baby practicing breathing at our u/s last week. Dh was totally impressed! We have been able to feel her "breathing" a few times since then. Though this baby gets hiccups a lot, I don't notice a connection with the breathing and the hiccups.

    Yes I have noticed that as well.  I think it's funny and get into a fit of giggles.  I don't know why I didn't notice with DS.

    For me the movement is like he's panting. You can see the one area on my stomach rise and fall quickly, almost like he's nudging me over and over again. Then he gets the hiccups pretty soon after. Although he does get the hiccups at random as well I'm wondering if I can't feel him practicing. :)

    We did too. I didn't even know baby's did this, it was amazing to see that movement. I haven't felt anything though.

    I KNEW IT. I took a video of my belly moving up and down because it looked like LO was breathing, and I showed it to DH and he said that there's no way that it was her breathing. =D
