So we live in the city and never use a carseat. But we are going back home in June for DS 1st birthday in Florida. I'm going to buy a convertible carseat for the trip but I just know I'm going to have to switch cars a bunch on this trip and i'm scared its going to be such a hassle, plus lugging it to and from the airport. I was looking at the Graco My Ride 65 a few friends have it that have cars in the city and say they like it. If anyone has this is it easy install and un-install? The first time I will be installing it is in a rushed taxi at 4:30am in the morning so i'm actually thinking about using a car service instead.
Re: Anxiety about Conv. Carseat only need one for a trip
There are places where you can rent car seats. Order online and they will send to your destination.

Travelbabees
If you are renting a car a lot of places have car seats for an additional fee.
The MyRide is a great seat, but it's pretty large to be lugging around. We have an Evenflo Triumph that isn't much smaller than the MyRide, but is super easy to install. We've put it in 3 cars besides our own and it just takes a minute or two.
The Costco Scenera is a little smaller and very inexpensive if you just need it for this trip. I'm not sure how easy it is to install, though.

I miss typed - it's not Costco, it's Cosco like LalaMama said. It's available at WalMart, Target, Babies'R'Us, etc. The seat is just as safe as any other on the market, they all have to meet the same safety standards, it is just has less extras like cupholders or extra padding. We don't have it, but I know of many people who do and it's a great seat.

This is what we have as the backup to our Britax as well.
BFP #1 9/7/10, EDD 5/14/11, Violet born 5/27/11.
BFP #2 4/9/12, EDD 12/16/12, M/C Rory 4/24/12.
BFP #3 10/6/12, EDD 6/16/12., Matilda born 6/17/13.
Cosco is a Chinese company. If you go to any port, you'll see tons of shipping containers with their name on them.
We have it as a backup also to a Britax and MyRide. As a backup, I think it's great. We use it for the babysitter, friends cars and when we travel. It is so much lighter to lug around than the Britax or MyRide!
Whichever seat you get, make sure you put your kiddo in it before you leave so you can get the straps at the right setting for them.
