Full Figured Nursing Bras

I have been looking for a good inexpensive Nursing Bra without underwire. Everyone I try on isn't any support, and I need that support. Has anyone found a good one for the hospital? I plan on getting professionally fitted after my milk comes in, but I don't see the purpose in buying a $50 bra until I know my real size.

Thanks in advanced.

Re: Full Figured Nursing Bras

  • I bought one from Amazon by Anita. It has underwire, but they make tem without, too. I was a 38DD prepregnancy, and I'm a 40E right now. It fits well. Having a bra that fits was like HEAVEN. I imagine I'll be going to a 40F when my milk comes in.

  • The bravado has been great for me and I went up at least one size when my milk came in. But it is $40.

  • I would get one of the Bravado ones in a size up (they have useful sizing information on their website) and then plan to get more once your milk comes in.  I tried staying with the cheap ones early on with my DS and I was so miserable - it's worth the expense to me to be comfortable.
  • For the first few weeks I lived in front open sports bras by fruit of the loom they aren't made for nursing but are amazing for sleep and hanging around the house, the best thing is they are very supportive when your milk first comes in. Oh yeah and they are 2 for less than $10.

  • I don't think you're going to find a supportive nursing bra for less than around $50 if you are fuller figured. I spent $20 on a cami nursing bra from target. It's pretty comfortable if a bit high in the front. I plan on wearing it around the house until my boob size stabilizes enough for me to spend the $50+ on a good bra. For size reference, I'm currently a 40G and I got a XXL and it fits fairly well, maybe a tad big.

I thought about a good sports bra, may have to give these bras a try. We have a great fitting store in our town that I plan on using afterwards, but I just didn't want to spend $50+ on a bra that will only fit for a few days.

I actually bought a few of these as "cheapies" for before the baby was born and I LOVE them.. they actually support better than my regular bra's do and they are very comfortable.  I have ALWAYS had problems with support. (I was a 38 C when I got pregnant and my 40DD is now getting tight..  so you can imagine support tends to be an issue.) But I really like these! https://www.walmart.com/ip/Bestform-Maternity-Comfort-Softcup-Nursing-Bra/16504248

  • I just bought the Bravado Bliss Nursing Bra last week after having two of the Seamless Silk for my whole pregnancy. It's fabulous and has a lot more sizes, including plus, which makes it easier to adjust if you get a little bigger while nursing. I've gotten larger up top in the last month, so I had to upgrade, but I definitely feel like I have room to grow in this new bra, which I know I inevitably will after birth. The bra is about $55, but I have one in black and will get one in nude expecting those two to last me, well, perhaps through all of nursing. Good luck!
