G has been sleep trained (ferber) for two months. He has gone down at night without a fuss since then. Naps are still hit or miss because we aren't always home (he comes to work with me and I can't always let him cry it out when we're here).
The past 4-5 days he has completely screamed through naps and he's crying for about 20-30 minutes every night.
What gives? He went to the pedi today for his 6 months and no ear infection, etc.
Do you have any ideas on what is going on? Yesterday his nap was a 90 minute ordeal and he never slept.
Should I keep going in at intervals or am I making it worse?
TIA!
Re: What's your take on this?
do you wait until he's showing signs of fatigue to put him down for a nap? that's what we have to do with DS--putting him down at the same time every day never worked for us, even though it's what the books tell you to do.
i would keep going in at intervals, although maybe increase the intervals by a minute or two each day the way you did when you originally ferberized. i bet this will pass. DS occasionally requires re-ferberization and after a few days of hell he always goes back to being fine (going down without a fuss and sleeping through the night).
Unexplained Infertility
After two Clomid cycles, three injectable IUI cycles, two IVFs, two miscarriages, and one lap surgery, IVF #2 has brought us our little boy!
TTC #2
After months of being postponed or cancelled, FET #1.3 (Natural FET) brought us twin girls!
I would guess teething or hitting a milestone (DD's sleep was always horrible before she learned a new skill). Or it could always just be a phase... DD went through plenty of bad sleeping phases for no reason (or at least we couldn't find a reason!)
This is us too...and my little guy is the same age! It happened to us twice and both times there were cranky nights followed by a new tooth soon after!
