Hello again- sorry for all the questions- but like I said before my appt isn't for another month- so I have all these things running through my mind.
My H & I have a boat & boat on the Mississippi every Saturday in the summer- from late morning til evening- so all day. I normally lay out all day and I do wear sunscreen but not much. Do I need to apply more sunscreen and just go under the canopy once in a while or is being out all day ok? Of course I'd still love to be out and about all day. I'm the DD boat driver
yay! Thanks ladies!
Re: Boating & being in the sun
Ok thanks! Well I do wear sunscreen- I prob should apply it more often than I do but yeah I was wondering if being in the sun was bad for the baby. I know that tanning in a tanning salon prob is a no no- so I didn't know if it would be a prob being in the sun. Sorry if it's a stupid question.
I tan very easily- and never really have burnt before- so I just apply it to my nose and shoulders and I'm usually ok. I'll def apply more this summer! Thanks!

You should be wearing sunscreen all day anyways.
That being said, your skin in pregnancy may become very sensitive, and may become splotchy and tan unevenly, especially on your face. On your face, it is called Melasma.
My esthetician tells me to wear face cream with sunblock every single day even days that I will only be going to and from the car. I did not have any skin discoloration with my DS (and he was born in August), so I will be doing the same thing again this summer.
As far as the sun harming your pregnancy, it will not, but the skin discoloration on the face can be a big cosmetic issue.

I don't know about others. But I've noticed that my skin is REALLY sensitive! Every little thing makes me itch or tickle. I shaved (dry, which I know is bad) but I ended up with razor burn that lasted for 2 days! Can you say ouch! MH and I went to see the Lion King musical and the burn was so distracting and sleeping with my legs touching the mattress hurt.
I would err on the side of caution and use a stronger SPF than you normally would, especially if you're fair skinned.
