My son Lucas just turned 10 weeks old. I have breastfed him since birth. I started pumping and giving him one bottle (Mr. Browns Wideneck) per day at 4 weeks. My husband usually gives him the bottle now at night so I can go to the gym. It took Lucasthree tries when he was four weeks old but he got the hang of it and seemed to like it. We went for our two month appointment last Thursday and the NP said some kids refuse to take the bottle from their mother and will only take it from other people. I think she must have jinks us or something because over the weekend he started playing with the nipple again and refusing to take the bottle from my husband. Anyone having this issue? He was doing fine.
Re: Bottle Regression in breastfeeding baby
I used to bottle feed at night and then I started EBFing. He only takes the bottle if he is extremely hungry. Otherwise, he gets upset with me for giving it to him.
Same with us! She took a bottle once a week until about 8 weeks, she started to refuse her pacifier and only drink an ounce between carrying on with her bottle. Now she SCREAMS for an hour or so until she finally gives in and takes it. Not sure how this is going to work when I go back to work in the summer. Granted it'll only be for 5 hours - but she'll need a bottle in there somewhere. O and we tried different bottles and different pacifiers - nothing works!
