March 2012 Moms

Funny Things I've learned. What about you?

1. Always remove LO's socks before changing poopy diaper.

2. Always lay down the waterproof pad before changing baby even if she hasn't peed during a diaper change in weeks, and especially if you are changing her on a friends couch!

Anyone else surprised by how damp having a newborn is? Between leaky boobies, leaky diapers, drool, spit-up, Tucks pads, and the sweating, I feel like I am going to mold!

What are some things you have learned or been surprised by?

  • Always have the receiving blanket (I don't use burp clothes. Not enough coverage) covering you when burping. Because he only does massive puking when you don't have it. You then get it all over you. Not fun.

I think he saves it for me. Never happens to daddy! lol.

    Story of my life!

I've learned, no matter how tired you are, change the diaper then do the night time nursing. Other wise it's very difficult to get him back to sleep. And then you'll be even more tired! I always think oh I'll just nurse his back to sleep. Wrong lol ;)

I usually feed her for about 10 minutes, then change her diaper, and then feed her again till she falls back asleep.

I also learned that sometimes you just have to realize that she just sometimes won't go back to sleep so why fight it. Just go ahead and make coffee. *yawn.
