Does anyone use the Physicians and Midwives practice in Alexandria? If so, please share any feedback you might have? Did you deliver with them? Do you like the practice? Thanks in advance!
They have delivered both of my children. Margie delivered Mackenzie (who was a 10lb baby) and Karen delivered Ian. I have had a wonderful experience. I had a bad experience with the older dr (he is the father of one of the other drs in the practice) while I was pregnant with Kenzie, but I have been able to avoid him since (through 2 miscarriages and a successful pregnancy).
If you have any specific questions I will be more than happy to help.

I would go to them for my yearly checkups and then when I got pregnant they did my prenatal care and delivery. Dr. Kongkashuan performed my csection she was great. I also like Dr. Cunningham and all the midwives except for Elizabeth which I only saw her once and then avoided making appts with her after that. It is a great practice and I am very happy with them.
I see them as well. Dr. Cunningham delivered Zach (via c-section). I really like the practice, and never felt rushed in any of my appointments. One midwife rubbed me the wrong way (Gina), but I have otherwise liked them all.

We recently switchign to Physicians and Midwives and are soooo thankful! We feel that we've finally found a practice that is more in line with our expectations and hopes for birth. Since I didn't switch until the 32 week mark I had to see a doctor on my first appointment. The wait was over an hour, but once we were with the Dr he truly took his time answering all of our questions and making sure we were 100% comfortable before proceeding. It was very reassuring to feel like we could be completely open and honest about our expectations and ask the Dr anything on our minds. At our previous practice we had never chatted with a Dr for more that 5 mins.
We had our follow-up appointment yesterday with a MW (Gina) and only have praises to offer! She was thoroughly prepared for our appointment, had researched all my medical records, and was even prepared with a few follow-up questions for us regarding our previous treatment. She took time to thoroughly explain things and made sure that we understood all of the bodily changes that I'm experiencing. I was very impressed!
I also delivered with P&M and had a great experience (saw 2 midwives during labor and then the doctor - Tabibi - who did the c-section). I would steer clear of Gina as she also rubbed me the wrong way (she lectured me both times I saw her regarding different issues that no one else seemed to think were a problem).

My only regret is not switching sooner!!!!
Dr. Konkashuan delviered henry, and were could not have been happier.
Elizabeth (midwife) is no longe with the practice, ( I didn't like her either)
Margie & Patrice are my favorite midwives...they are just so wonderful.
I'm glad the pp had a good experiance w. Gina. I've only heard negative things about her, and I personally will not see her.
Like any multi dr/midwife practice, I think you just have to find who is right for you within it.
