38 week let down... Vent

I was so pumped to go to my appointment this week to see how far I have progressed... And guess what? NADA -- Still 1cm dilated and now a different doc says 30% effaced? Last week the other doctor said 50% effaced. FML - Seriously. Is it even possible to be more effaced than before? Or perhaps it is just a matter of opinion...

This is my vent. 

Okay, I am going to go eat a Trader Joes Turkey Corn Dog now. Maybe two...

    aaaaand .... this is why I'll be refusing internals for the time being!  Sorry you're frustrated, and we've all heard it a billion times, but it means nothing.

    If it makes you feel any better - I had my 38 week appt today and my cervix is still CLOSED!  Induction will be scheduled next week but I may need to be in the hospital for a few days on a special drug to prep my cervix before labor will even begin.  It sounds like if I was dialated to at least 1cm then they could use pitocin, but I couldn't be that lucky.

    I feel your pain.

    I'm working on 41 weeks and as of 40 weeks I was closed. 

    Kind of wish I passed on internals, but I'm too curious not to have them done!

    Ack that stinks.

    If it makes you feel better, I was 1 cm at my 37 week appointment, about the same at my 38 week appointment, and at my 39 week she couldn't reach my cervix bc it hurt so bad I had her stop and she said she didnt think I was even 1 centimeter.  It doesn't really mean anything which the doc at my 39 week appointment said but I like to know there is progress lol.

    Effacement is completley subjective and you will probably get a different answer with each different nurse or doc that checks you, so try not to get discouraged. I bet you didn't regress, you are probably the same as before you just had a different person check you.

    I feel your pain.  Urgency has set in here too.  I have 13days till a schedule rcs and I wanted a vbac so bad.  I am still high and tight and unless I can go into labor on my own in 12days will be looking at being cut again.  Sure makes me want to have my 3yrolds jump on my belly and shoot this baby out :)
