Some background: I had a c/s with my DD b/c my water broke on its own and I didn't start labor/had pitocin/failure to progress along with some other issues. This time I want to try fro a VBAC. I've had that discussion with my Dr and he's 100% on board. So begin rant:
I just got some paperwork back from my HR department about my FMLA for when LO is born. In it I see that they have my leave beginning on 9/27, when my due date isn't until 10/4. (I wouldn't mind an extra week off, but I plan to work until I go into labor) So when I saw that I went in to talk to HR to see if that's what the Dr sent back on the paperwork. She says yes, it says on the documents that you will be having a c-section b/c of a prior c-section and will be out from 9-27 until about 11/26. Come to find out the Dr that filled out my pprwrk was the Dr that delivered my DD not my normal Dr.
1st issue: why was my due date change and I wasn't notified
2nd issue: why would you assume that I'm having a RCS when it is clearly written in my file by my regular Dr that I want a VBAC?
3rd issue: I've seen the same Dr for most of my last pregnancy (up until I had to start the rotation) and all of this one. Why would you have the Dr that delivered my DD fill out the paperwork when I've seen him all of TWICE... once during the rotation and @ delivery.
would you call your Dr office or wait till the next appt to bring this up? I refuse to schedule a c-section!
Re: Annoyed (vent)
Chances are they didn't actually change your EDD. I think it's standard to schedule RCS for 39wks.
That said, I'd definitely be discussing that with the doc you actually see and have him resubmit the paperwork to your HR. I'd be making sure that your file very clearly states your intention to VBAC. I think it can wait until your next appointment though. It will be easier to actually speak with the doc face to face. Gauge his body language and demeanor to see if her truly is on board.

It's not standard to schedule a RCS at 39 weeks, my OB will "allow" me to go 2 days past my due date before scheduling a CS (which is a moot point anyway since I'm switching to a MW).
I would be annoyed as well, apparently this doctor decided you will have a RCS when your primary OB and you have other plans, and that is being relayed to your work? Not cool, I would call.
Oh okay. Everyone I've known to have a RCS were told it had to be scheduled for 39wks. They were told it needed to be that way so that the chances of going into labor are slim. Good to know not all docs do it that way.

I would assume that if you were choosing not to have a VBAC and have a RCS that would probably be the case, so that does make sense in those situations.
That's what I was talking about. Obviously this other doc isn't on board with the VBAC plan so I figured that's why the paperwork had a RCS scheduled for approximately a week before her EDD.
