DS has gathered the strength to hold his head up while we hold him, but he only turns his head to one side. We have been on a positioning plan from his developmental specialist to avoid him laying on his right side (iv and picc line were on his left). Wondering if this could affect his preference to holding his own head? Any suggestions or experience on getting him to turn it the other way?
This may sound silly, but cover the eye on the side he prefers. See if it makes him turn his head. Ryan has torticollis and he prefers to look to the right. If we cover his right eye he automatically looks to the left. We're thinking of getting an eye patch and having him wear it a few times a day.
