Membranes are stripped....

At my appt. today Dr. said she was suprised to see me, because she thought I would have had LO by now. He has been measuring large for the entire pregnancy.  Estimating around 9lbs right now.  Anyway, I really would like to get the show on the road so this little guy isn't a 10 or 11 pounder, so I asked her to strip my membranes.  It was more uncomfortable than I was planning, but I wouldn't say "painful".  Took about 15 seconds. I was 2cm 50% effaced.

Since then I have had brownish discharge and some light cramping.  She said if I don't go into labor within the next 48 hours, that means LO just isn't ready. 

Anyone else get or getting stripped??? How did it work out for you?

    I did last Wednesday morning, baby was born Friday night.  My contractions started about 10pm Wednesday night after the stripping.  So it worked for me but I was 40 weeks, 2 days at the time.

    DD#2 was born 10 hours after my membranes were stripped... worked pretty good for me!

    I had mine stripped at my 40.5 week appointment (a Wednesday). I had bloody show and cramping for three days so past the 48 hour mark. I then went into labor on Saturday afternoon and gave birth that night.

    I had my membranes swept today as well. Dr. said I was 2.5 cm dialated and about 50% effaced. My DD#1 came at 38 weeks so I am sort of surprised to still be pregnant!

    I have had cramping and bleeding/discharge since my sweep and am hoping to go into labor SOON.

    Let's cross our fingers for each other. :-)
