New 2012 City Mini or 2010 Gently Used Uppa Baby Vista?

Which would you rather?

I thought I had decided on 2012 City Mini until a friend is selling her 2010 Uppa Baby Vista for 400 with accessories and a new seat and canopy. Its in great condition.  Which would you get?

We mostly will use for trips to mall, park, zoo etc. No plans for another child for about four years.

THANKS!

That's comparing apples to oranges. The City Mini is a great stroller, but the UPV is much more versatile. Can be used with an infant seat, facing the parent, facing out, or with a bassinet, and can convert to a double if necessary. The CM only faces one way, and is hard to manage with the infant seat, my friend that has a CM used a snap and go for her infant carrier. I'd go with the used UPV.

  • I'd go with the City Mini, the UBV is super bulky. There is a reason she's getting rid of it!

I love my UBV. It's so versatile, light, and easy to use. The thing I like most about the UBV is the HUGE basket underneath. If I'm doing light to regular grocery shopping (for a week or so, not Costco style), I use the stroller instead of a cart and it's a breeze.

  • Thanks everyone for the helpful responses!
  • Ironically these are the two strollers I own... I use my City Mini as a lightweight stroller and the UppaBaby Vista as my full size stroller.  I especially loved the bassinet attachment on the UBV in the first few months, although we lived in the city and did not have to get in and out of the car on a daily basis.

I am now looking to sell my UBV because my second baby is due any day and I don't love the rumble seat option.  We originally thought we'd space out children further apart, but my oldest is still too young (IMO) to want to ride in the rumble seat.  Instead we are going to buy a side by side double.

Definitely the UBV.  We used the bassinet for our daughter's naps up until she was about 4 1/2 months old, which made it even more worth it.  I love love love this stroller, and even now that she's 11 months old, we still use it almost every day, even though we have an umbrella stroller that we could use... the UBV is super easy to steer, easy to push, easy everything!
