Anyone had a 40week appt?

I'm wondering what to expect, since I never lasted this long with my two previous pregnancies!

Do they order an U/S? Talk induction? I'm sure it depends on the practice, but I'm interested to hear other's experiences...

    3/09 off BCP TTC 6/09 DX PCOS 9/09, endometriosis, bicornuate uterus DH- All #'s are above normal! 1500 mg Metformin 6 rounds of Clomid + HCG trigger- All BFN 8/10 IUI #1 Gonal F + Ovidrel BFN 9/10 On a much needed break 10/10 Laparoscopy 11/10- 6/11 IUI #2-4 Gonal F, Ovidrel, and progesterone, produced 4-8 follies each cycle, all BFN 8/11 IVF #1 R-20, M-17, F W/ICSI 2 :( 3dt of a 4 cell and 7 cell BFP!!!!     I'm planning on it. I have an appt scheduled for the 18th when I'll be 40w1d. My doctor has scheduled a non stress test instead of my standard OB exam.

    I had my 40 week last Thursday.  We went over the induction talk - pros, cons, risks, etc.  We set up a follow-up appt for Monday just in case. She did an internal and asked me if I wanted my membranes stripped.  I declined b/c the internal was painful and I was already 4cm.  She also did an NST since his heart rate skipped a few beats on teh doppler.  Then she sent me on my way.

    I have my 40 week appt. tomorrow and was wondering the same thing as to what to expect. I'm sure we'll have the induction talk but I am anxious as to what else will happen. At my last appt. last week I was 2cm's, hopefully I'm further along tomorrow.

    I had my 40 week appointment last Friday and it was exactly the same as the rest of my appointments.  We didn't really talk about inductions but we've previously discussed it.

    I had a 40 week appt. when I was pregnant with DD. My OB simply told me to schedule an appt for one week out and said, "see you in a week." In retrospect, I appreciate his always not getting my hopes up about delivering super soon. DD came 3 days past her due date. There was no reason to talk induction because she was not measuring large etc... Good luck!

    We were sent to the delivering hospital to have a non-stress test performed on baby the day following my appointment. We were then told that if I hadn't had him by the next appointment (a week later), we'd have to talk seriously about chemical induction.

    I did request membrane stripping at mine but I was 40.5 weeks pregnant and wanting to avoid induction.

    I had one last week and we did an ultrasound (but we did them every appt) and I had my membranes stripped. then we talked about how to try and get baby to move down and talked about induction at 41 weeks. I did the exercises the doctor told me to and the next day the baby came! Good luck :)

    I had mine yesterday, and it was just a regular appointment with a pelvic.  I have an appointment scheduled on Monday to have an ultrasound and stress test. From there we will schedule induction provided i haven't gone into labor naturally.
