how many cloth diapers should I bring??? The hospital does not provide them and because I don't know exactly how long we will be there ( only 1 or 2 nights if everything goes well) how many cloth diapers should I bring??
They provide disposables though, right? Our hospital didn't use cloth either. I'd probably take 20-24 CDs and a wet bag. The wipes they use are typically like cloths. Newborns don't pee much, but we did have to change several meconium diapers.

speak for your own hospital on the wipes haha.
our hospital provided pampers swaddlers and these wipes that seemed to be from the dollar store. They were folded in 4's and stuffed into the little plastic envelope that only had like 8 of them. They were slick pieces of wipe that were so linty and chemically perfumey I hated using them on my newborn. We're delivering at a different hospital but you can be sure I'm bringing my own wipes.
To my boys: I will love you for you Not for what you have done or what you will become I will love you for you I will give you the love The love that you never knew
OP I don't have any suggestions because I didn't CD in hospital, but I wanted to chime in on wipes. We had cotton balls and peri bottle of water! Actually did a good job and more natural than disposable wipes...
Would your DH or a family member be willing to take some diapers home at the end of the day to wash for you? That way you don't have to worry about having enough diapers.
Your other option is using disposables in the hospital.

Every hospital is different about wipes! First time, they provided these paper towels that felt almost like cloth - maybe like a very thick paper napkin? And we just wet them with water. Second time around, they provided Huggies Pure&Natural wipes.
I was there for 2 nights for a vag. birth and then 4 nights for a c-section. First time around we brought 24 prefolds and 2 covers - we ran out of prefolds because we changed him so often, so DH had to go home and do diaper laundry while we were still at the hosp. Second time we used mostly AIOs, brought 36. After the third-ish day, DH washed them and brought them back. Basically, if you want to use cloth the whole time, either get out of there quickly, or someone will have to wash and return.
We didn't try to use cloth while we were in the hospital (DS wouldn;t have fit in them anyway, since he was 5 lbs. 8 oz. at birth), but you could bring your own cloth diapers if it's important to you. I think it would be very rare for a hospital to provide cloth diapers. Ours provided Pampers diapers and wipes.
I forgot to answer your original question. I'd bring your entire stash if you want to use cloth. I was in the hospital for 3 nights/4 days after my c-section and our cloth diaper stash would've only gotten us through 2 days.
CDing was the last thing on my mind when I was in the hospital. I had an unexpected c/s so I was more concerned about trying to take care of myself, get a good start with BFing, and bond with my LO. I commend those of you that CDd in the hospital, but I don't think I'm up for the challenge.
Sorry if that's not helpful. I guess what I'm trying to reiterate is that you never know how your labor may go and, IMO, it's not the end of the world if you don't CD exclusively from day 1.
Ditto PPs on bringing all of them if you're wanting to use them right away.
That said, we did not use cloth until we got home from the hospital. Our hospital stay ended up being longer than anticipated due to a crazy post-birth complication, so it was a good choice for us to use the hospital-provided disposables during that time.
I used disposables in the hospital and will probably do the same for the next baby. I think the nurses changed half of DD's diapers while we were in the hospital and it would have been a PITA to make them use the CDs.
My family along with myself and my sister all had to be cloth diapered because we were allergic to disposables. I know the sensitive ones are working better then they were a few years ago but my god kids were allergic to the new sensitive ones as well.
So yes, I would like to use disposables in the hospital but I am worried that I will not be able to!!!
Thank-you for all your advice!!! I will be bringing my whole stash - fingers crossed I don't have to use them!!!

I'm not sure if hospitals will carry the Pampers Sensitive. I would maybe pick up a pack of NBs and bring it with you just in case. You could also try something like 7th Generation. Keep the receipt if the hospital ones work.
I will say we did have to weigh every diaper of DS's for the first few days. He was NICU so that's probably why, but there is no way they would have let us use cloth for that since they all weigh different. However, I didn't even ask since we just recently started CDing.
Good luck, hope it all works out well for you!

I use the disposables in the hospital so that I didn't have to worry about my CDs getting lost or sitting in a wetbag for a few days.
I've had a different hospital for each one of my babies and each hospital provided pampers swaddlers and pampers wipes
