I think I'm going to get a Moby wrap to carry the baby in. I know I can order different colors online, but at stores near us, I've only been able to find it in black.
I'm a little hesitant to wrap up my baby next to me in black fabric during the summer in Florida. Does anyone know if it matters and if it gets hot, or does it not make a difference at all?
Thanks! ![]()
Re: Moby wrap
The Moby itself is going to get VERY hot. Being in FL I couldn't imagine you would be able to wear it outside at all. It's about 10-15 feet of knit fabric that you wrap around yourself.
I used a ring sling from sleeping baby productions. I used it for tummy to tummy holds and it was a lot cooler.

Hey, I'm in Florida too!
After some research, I decided to go with the Baby K'Tan Breeze, specifically because of the heat thing, but also because it seems much faster to get on/off than the Moby (but was the same concept). Being a FTM, I haven't given it a try yet, but it seems like it will fit the bill for only a bit more than the moby.
Here's what I ordered:

Here's a video that convinced me to get it instead of the Moby:

I didn't love the Moby. It was cumbersome to tie while standing in a parking lot. There's so much material, that it's always draping on the ground. But, yet I always felt like I needed a few more inchs of fabric to tie it where it would be more comfortable (I'm tall and larger). Plus, the black was definitely hot. It is really thick material.
This time I'm going with a ring sling of some variety. I think I'll be more comfortable.
