Another nesting question-Car seat cover

I'm guessing I need to wash the car seat cover too?  In another post, Lotta asked about the bouncer cover so now I'm looking around at other stuff that I'm guessing I have to wash.  Geesh, I should have started washing stuff more than a month ago :( and I thought I was doing good starting then.

  • You should wash them because they have excess chemicals on them.  We did a load of wash with the car seat cover, stroller cover, and bouncer cover all at once with a color catcher.  It worked just fine.

  • I only washed our carseat and swing covers because this is baby three and there were some hidden puffs and spills from the last occupant. :) I wouldn't wash a new carseat cover or swing though. Would you wash seats in a new car or couch?

This is what I am doing this time around. Other than clothes and bedding, I did not wash anything for DD.  I was not putting her in the car seat naked so I did not see the point.  BTW she is two and has only had a cold twice other than that no illness.

I asked myself the part in bold last night and decided the answer was no.

  • I hope it didn't come across snarky. I thought that's one thing not to worry about! Plus taking the seat apart can be a huge pain, especially if you haven't before. :)
