Last week at my 36w appointment, I swear the nurse jinxed me by asking if I felt like I was coming to the light at the end of the tunnel. This was being said as I was stepping on the scale & it showed a 3lb gain in one week.
At this week's 37w appointment, a different nurse (I swear this one was nosy - kept looking at my info in my file!) looked & saw that I'm 37w & said, "Oh I don't think you'll make it to your due date." This was after having rode the elevator up with my doc (trust me, THAT was a little weird! lol! went to push the "3" button, realized it was already highlighted - duh! - & said out loud, "Well of course, that's where you're going." yeah.....) & him making the comment, "Well it looks like you're almost there."
Alright people, I have been telling myself that I will go past my due date, get to 41w & have to be induced. I've been saying this so if it happens I won't be surprised or disappointed. And if LO decides to come on time, or close to it, I'll be happily surprised. I'm trying not to get my hopes up here. I'm even declining any cervix checks (wasn't dilated any last week) until I'm 40w if I make it that far.
Ok, vent over.
Re: Nurses really need to watch what they say!
Then came a miscarriage March '11
Then came a baby in the baby carriage May 16, 12
Waiting on our second little peanut!
Heck, a different nurse had to pop in & tell me my GBS test came back negative & ask if I wanted the doc to do a cervix check.
