Pampers vs Target brand diapers

Anyone use Pampers Cruisers & Target's brand of diapers?  We've pretty much only used Pampers & don't have any problems, but I remember hearing that the Target diapers are pretty good too.  I was thinking of trying them to see since they are cheaper (I don't really know how much cheaper they are though).  Just looking for feedback.  Thanks!

Re: Pampers vs Target brand diapers

  • We use both and don't have any problems.  If I have pampers coupons and there's a sale I'll buy pampers.  If we need diapers and I can't find a good sale or coupons I buy Target brand.

  • We use Target 99% of the time for both girls and I love them. They work better for us than any other brand, including Pampers. The fit is just a little better for my skinny kids.

We use pampers and we trialed the target brand.  I liked the target design and fit, but I didn't like that they weren't soft like the cruisers.  The other big issue we had with them is that the tabs were hard to get to and with a baby that doesn't like to stay still for diaper changes it made it so much more difficult to get to the tabs (they didn't stick out as far as the pampers and they were a little harder to pull off).  DH really had a hard time with them so we are continuing to use pampers.

  • Thanks for the suggestions!  I think I'll get a smaller pack to try them out.

  • we switched from pampers (we'd used swaddlers and cruisers) to the target ones and have had no problems. I'm happy with the price for sure! They sell small packs if you want to try them out without a big commitment :)

  • We usually use Luvs, and there was one time when we bought the Target brand, and never will again. They definately are cheaply made. They aren't as soft as other brands,  and to me, they seemed to kind of form 'lumps' once the diaper got wet. I was always thinking that DD had a poopy diaper, but it wasn't. If I remember correctly, the tabs are plastic and sticky, not velcro-type material like other brands. I've heard alot of good things about Target diapers, but just not for me.

  • I recently switched from Pampers Baby Dry to Target and no issues!  They are soft like Pampers which I like, unlike Huggies and Costco brand that feel like cardboard.

  • I've used both pampers and walmarts parents choice brand.

I have to say, I don't really like pampers. They have this weird smell and when dd would poop, her poo smell mixed with the pampers smell made me want to hurl.

We usually use cloth diapers, but my favorite are fisher price diapers. They are pretty cheap but pretty well made too.

I used the Target brand and switched to SAMs brand. Target diapers were okay, but seemed like they'd fit skinny babies better. My DD is a chunky little thing, and the SAMs fit her better.

I usually buy my Pampers at Sam's, so thanks for the rec. of those diapers!  DD is not a skinny baby!!

  • We use Target diapers during the day but still use Pampers at night.  Target does well during the day, but I can't imagine that it would hold everything overnight since it bulges and seems saturated after a few hours during the day.  But it is a nice way to save some money on diapers.
