I am running out of ideas. I usually get the frames with photos of the kids, but I don't have any good recent pics right now. I did jewelry for the holidays and birthdays, so I am at a loss.
I am going to try and do "Nana" spelled out in pictures and "Mamaw" for my mom.
We did stepping stones when they were babies and those have been their favorite gifts. I have one in my garden and I love it!
We also made bags one time with their handprints, she carries that everyday still.

We've told them we are trying to get them a grandson! So, this year they are just getting cards. We just don't have extra money to throw at Mother's Day this year.
ETA: We usually get them flowers and a gift card. They are both out of state and that's just easier to send.
i usually get flowers and maybe candy. i don't believe in going overboard for mother's day. i think spending the day w/ moms and family and simple, thoughtful gifts are just fine.
After 7 years of marriage and 5 unsuccessful IVFs, we have been granted the gift of adopting a baby boy, born 4/21/11.
My MIL needs to get gifts so we are giving her a phone (for her house) that she asked for and some candy. My mom (and dad) is getting a family photo shoot that will actually be in June and will take care of Mother's Day and Father's Day for my sister and I. Whew.
Would they like a candle or nice bath products? What about a pretty new umbrella? Nice pajama's (I've found great one for $20ish at TJ Maxx)
We got all the moms/grandmom's an accordion book of pictures - nothing fancy just random pics we've been taking the last few months. Good for the grandma's who don't have smart phones to show off pictures to their friends.
A phone call and a card if they are lucky. I don't have a good relationship with my mother, she can't stand when people are happy especially when it is her own children. When Hallmark makes a card that says "Thanks for not aborting me" then she'll get one. I do remember last year looking at the cards and they were all the "You are so wonderful, blah blah, blah" and I just couldn't get her one. It would've been a blatent lie and I just couldn't.
My MIL is BSC and super passive-aggressive to the point of my pacifist husband growing a pair and even calling her out on her lies. He's in charge of getting her a card and if he forgets oops.
Sorry no paragraphs, bumping from my phone.

We got Mom and MIL each a customized frame with a pic of DD, and they each get flowers. They both live out of state, so we ususally do flowers or plant.
I do like the idea of the accordian thing...it's cute! I also like those necklaces you can get on etsy with the grandchildren's names on it, but it might be cutting it a little close for this weekend.

I wanted to do books of my son with my Mom that included all pics of them but I haven't even started it so that definitely will be late gift if I even get around to it. My Mom always loves a massage gift certificate or pedicure! I am also planning on making some sort of homemade hand print card with DS hand. He's not a fan of the handprints but the final products are worth it
