TTC after 35

CD3-giving it another go

I went for CD2 U/S and b/w yesterday morning, and have once again started my injections. I am on the lupron flare protocol, and I started my follistim this morning, will start low dose HCG tonight as well.

They are cycling me as if it's an IUI, and they hope to be able to convert me to an IVF.  This is the 3rd or 4th cycle I am doing this year, and I am about finished. I figure I have one more cycle in me if this doesn't work.

My u/s yesterday showed that I have 5 tiny follicles on the left and 3 on the right. I think I'm going to pray a novena that 4 of them grow.  I just don't think I can take the disappointment of "well, there is only one growing, we are going to have to go with IUI" AGAIN.

Kind of bummy today because it's coming up on a year ago that I thought I wasn't pregnant, found out I was, and then had a m/c right after that. I really try not to dwell on that much, but it has been on my mind lately.  Ugh, and mother's day is coming.  I will be avoiding Facebook for sure.

Rereading, I realize what a Debbie Downer I sound like. I'll turn that around so all things are positive for this cycle :)  Thanks for reading ladies!

TTC since 3/2010. Me 41, DH-49. After 3 years, 6 IUIs and several IVFs we have finally have our beautiful baby girl, born on 11/7/13.

I think it's totally okay to sound down.  I'm sorry for your loss a year ago, and I'm sorry for the disappointments since then.  I really hope that this is the cycle that works for you!

PS:  Facebook + Mother's Day = awful combination

  • No need to be positive. You wouldn't be trying at all if you didn't think there was at least a slight possibility of a pleasant surprise.

  • FX that your protocol change does the trick!  GL!
  • Thank you all ladies! I really appreciate your understanding, I know you all get it, but I feel like I was Mary Sunshine about a year ago, and now I'm like, F--- everything.  But I know it's not just me!

I am not actually getting a protocol change, I am on the same dosage of medication that I have been, the RE says that it is the most aggressive protocol they have, and increasing it is not going to get better results. I feel I am banging my head against the wall.  I am going back to acupuncture for this cycle, I at least got 2 follicles when I did acupuncture, but last cycle I couldn't get to my appointments because of work so I skipped it and only had one follicle. Hoping the combo of the 2 gets me a few good follies so this is it!

I can't remember what I have had in the past for AFC but I do always seem to have a good number to start with and then only one or two of them decide to grow. Yes, I hope that i am saving the best for last. Thank you, I do still have some hope for a pleasant surprise :)
